Common Coworking FAQs

Although coworking is not a new concept, it has certainly gained popularity post-COVID 19 pandemic. Yet many people still don’t know what we do at the HUB 127 or how our space operates.

Today, we’re tackling our most frequently asked questions to spread the word that working alone doesn’t have to be lonely work.

What exactly is a coworking space?

A coworking space is a flexible work arrangement that provides all of the office amenities without the office price. Members can work where they want when they want. While we do have several private offices, the majority of members work from the open space with work stations ranging from traditional desks to standing desks to bar-height counters.

Is a coworking space only for business owners or entrepreneurs?

Nope, truthfully a coworking space can work for anyone who needs a change of scenery and freedom from distraction to get work done. That could be a business owner, but could also be a student looking for a quiet space to study, a stay-at-home parent needing a distraction-free zone to develop a side hustle, or even a full-time professional looking for a space to dive into creative work.

Our members run the gamut from entrepreneurs to non-profit directors; from freelance video producers to blog-writing doctors; from ministry teams to remote healthcare workers.

What is the benefit of working at the HUB 127 when I could just work from home, a coffee shop, or the library for free?

While those are all great options, the HUB 127 provides an atmosphere of community plus productivity that you can’t get anywhere else. Working from a coworking space gives you access to a network of other professionals and creatives, as well as the benefit of having someone else take care of the workplace details. Plus, certain memberships offer 24/7 access, which you won’t find with a coffee shop or library.

What types of memberships does the HUB 127 offer?

We pride ourselves on being affordable and flexible to meet community needs. For the occasional drop-in, $10 day pass gives you access to the HUB 127 during normal business hours (M-F; 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.). Someone coming into town for a week can purchase a $20 weekly pass. However, for individuals who need regular access to the workspace, our $50 monthly membership and $500 annual membership are great deals. Both include 24/7 access as well as 10 complimentary hours in our boardroom and conference room.

What about the boardroom and conference room? Do I have to be a member to use those?

Although membership includes free hours in our boardroom and conference room, both are also available for reservation by the public. Simply call our office for availability and fees. These rooms are well-suited for meetings, conferences and classes, and both include wireless presentation capabilities and virtual meet-ups.
