Meet the Member - Scott Hartley

If you’re looking for a story of a successful business owner who followed a straight and easy path to work-life balance and financial freedom, then this isn’t your story. Instead, Gibson County native Scott Hartley’s path to developing MasterPlan4Success, a marketing strategy and coaching service for small business, is a story of twists, turns, and a passion for helping others.

As Hartley says, “I’ve had quite the meandering path.” After earning a degree at Appalachian Bible College and a master’s in education at Oakland City University, Hartley considered teaching for a time. However, substitute teaching experience suggested otherwise. Hartley then worked as a 9-1-1 dispatcher and coordinator for the Gibson County Sheriff's Department, and after numerous requests from friends for help with computer issues, Hartley developed his first independent business, Calibre Computer Solutions, in 2014.

As any independent business owner will tell you, entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. By 2017, Hartley was burnt out on technology. When a chance encounter with a former college roommate opened a door to coaching small businesses in Keap, a CRM and marketing automation software he used in his own business, he jumped on the opportunity and stepped away from the day-to-day operations at Calibre.

Over the next two years, Hartley would be approached to work as a contractor by a major marketing agency, ultimately going full time onboarding new members with Keap.

The end result of Hartley’s meandering path is the development of MasterPlan4Success in its current form. Built on Hartley’s years of experience building Calibre Computer Solutions and coaching with Keap, he now works with overwhelmed and stressed-out small business owners to effortlessly grow their business on autopilot with predictable marketing strategies and automation.

With a ‘been there, done that’ attitude, Hartley is passionate about coming alongside small business owners through the often lonely and challenging process towards work-life freedom and flexibility. He currently serves a wide variety of clients in primarily service-based businesses with his signature program: the Business Automation Accelerator featuring a personalized business automation playbook.

And that’s just the beginning.

We’ve been fortunate to have Hartley as a HUB 127 member nearly since its inception, both as an office lease and now as a monthly cowork member. We’ll often see him set up early in the morning taking advantage of the productivity that comes with a change of scenery and the opportunity to collaborate with other coworkers. And we look forward to possible MasterPlan4Success trainings in our boardroom in the future.
